David Pipal joined the firm in 2007 and specializes in all aspects of construction law, including contracts, products liability, mold personal injury claims, and complex construction defect litigation. Contractors rely on David not only to litigate construction claims, but also to consult on risk avoidance and risk management strategies. He has defended clients in disputes with state and local entities and neighboring property owners in courts throughout California and he has participated in trials, administrative hearings, and countless mediations.
Born in the central coast town of Hollister, Calif., David left the West Coast after high school to attend Boston College. After graduating, he returned to California and began a career in the high-tech industry, spending the next five years managing projects at Apple and Palm before deciding to attend law school. During law school, David served as an editor on the Santa Clara Law Review and worked as a clerk at the law firm of Paxton-O'Brien, during which time he focused on property casualty claims and easement disputes.
David is admitted to practice in all California state courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Contra Costa County Bar Association. In his free time, David provides legal counseling to members of the community as a volunteer for the Benicia Lawyers in the Library Program.
