Jeffrey W. Allen

Jeffrey W. Allen contributes a broad range of legal knowledge and valuable practical litigation and trial experience both to the firm and to our clients. He is a Martindale-Hubbell AV-rated attorney – a mark of distinction that illustrates his level of skill, integrity and professional excellence.

Jeff is experienced in all areas of litigation and civil trial work, including Personal Injury, Business and Commercial Litigation, Products Liability, Professional Negligence, Employment and related Civil Rights Litigation. He also serves as local counsel for a national retail and several transportation companies on a variety of litigation issues. He also serves as a private and court-appointed arbitrator.

Noteworthy among Jeff’s cases are his defense jury verdicts of 1. a concrete manufacturer in a multi-million dollar personal injury suit; and 2. a National Trucking company, among several other jury trial successes.  Jeff has also been acclaimed for his successful representation of a university professor in a federal employment suit (which earned his client full reinstatement, back pay and attorney fees/costs) and his defense of local Bay Area businesses in whistleblower and other wrongful termination lawsuits.

Jeff handles many employment related claims involving work place discrimination, sexual harassment, earnings/commission sales disputes and the like in both State and Federal court, including administrative hearings.  He also provides counseling on employment issues, workplace investigation and/or litigation services.

He also represents retailers in a wide variety of claims, including cases involving premises liability, false imprisonment, warranty, product liability and toxic contamination exposure.  He represents a number of nationally known trucking companies and is a member of TIDA (Trucking Industry Defense Association).

Throughout his 30+ year career, Jeff has successfully handled serious personal injury cases involving traumatic brain injury, complex regional pain syndrome (reflex sympathetic dystrophy), quadriplegia and paraplegia.  He also has represented a wide variety of professionals including health care practitioners, insurance industry professionals, attorneys and real estate brokers in professional liability suits.

A highly regarded public speaker, Jeff frequently lectures to claims and risk management groups on topics such as effective litigation management and strategies, which routinely qualify as Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB).  The firm is a recognized CEB provider.

Jeff is a member of the State Bar of California, American Bar Association (ABA), Alameda County Bar Association (ACBA), Bar Association of San Francisco (BASF), Contra Costa County Bar Association (CCBA), Association of Northern California Defense Counsel (ADC) and Defense Research Institute (DRI).
