Kathleen DeGiobbi, our Executive Director of Finances, joined with partners David Levy and Jay Van De Poel, Jr., to launch the firm in early 2002. She has over four decades of legal administration experience, including 24 years in the employ of John Van De Poel, Sr., an eventual Superior Court Judge of Contra Costa whom she worked with at Bennett & Van De Poel and later at Van De Poel & Strickland and Strickland & Haapala in Oakland.
During her time with Van De Poel, Levy & Allen, LLP, Kathleen has helped us make the transition from a start-up firm sharing 850 square feet (and 65 files), to a well-established, medium-sized organization of 50 employees occupying 13,000 square feet with offices in Walnut Creek and San Francisco.
Kathleen has been a member of the Association of Legal Administrators and the East Bay Association of Legal Administrators since 1982.
In her free time, Kathleen serves on the Board of Directors of the Contra Costa Interfaith Coalition. Through CCIC Kathleen has prepared meals once a month for the homeless shelter in Concord for over 15 years. Kathleen is an active member of First Christian Church of Concord (Disciples of Christ), where she has served in many capacities since 1994. Kathleen is also an avid San Francisco Giants fan and loves tennis, photography and cooking.
